There is a conventional theory that a person’s net worth is the equivalent of the five closest people in their network, and award-winning entrepreneur and owner at Live Innovations, Tom Harris is putting pressure on aspiring entrepreneurs to solidify their business relationships to build stronger support networks in 2018.
London-based event marketing specialist, Live Innovations is an ardent supporter of entrepreneurship and Managing Director; Tom Harris has a proven track record of developing aspiring entrepreneurs into successful businessmen and women. Here, the event marketing expert has revealed the tips recently discussed at an exclusive meeting, that budding entrepreneurs can implement to solidify their business relationships.
Step 1: Know Yourself
Mr Harris contends that the first step in building healthy and prosperous business relationships is for the connector to know who they are and what they want to get out of that connection. “The key to a great business relationship is to go into it knowing that you share common interests, goals, and objectives and that each party brings something to the table.”
Step 2: Build personal relationships
Mr Harris argues that the best relationships are formed when people get to know each other on both a personal and professional level. The business owner is urging aspiring entrepreneurs to focus on getting to know people on a personal level. “I like to know about people’s personal lives because it allows me to know their motivations and influences and build a stronger business relationship,” stated Mr Harris.
Step 3: Be human
Mr Harris argues that the best relationships are formed when people are authentic, letting people in and showing their strengths and weaknesses. “One of the mistakes people often make is putting up a façade and projecting an image of something that isn’t the real them. The key to building great relationships is to be yourself and be human.” Commented Mr Harris.
Step 4: Consistency
Live Innovations believe that building great relationships take time and it’s important to be consistent. Mr Harris is urging entrepreneurs to be consistent and put in the time and effort required to forge a successful relationship. “Relationships are a two-way street, you have to be prepared to put in the time to make calls and take time out to solidify your relationships and consistency is key,” stated Mr Harris.
At Live Innovations the firm emphasises the importance of building a diverse and robust network, urging contractors to capitalise on every networking opportunity. Managing Director, Tom Harris attributes much of his success to his network of coaches and mentors, and he is urging other aspiring professionals to commit to solidifying their business relationships.
